Project Manager - Steel Fabrication Industry
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee steel fabrication projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the steel fabrication or manufacturing industry, with proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software. Experience with JobBoss or other ERP systems is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage steel fabrication projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Utilize SolidWorks and CAD to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and designs.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to align project expectations and deliverables.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes.
- Leverage ERP systems (e.g., JobBoss) to estimate and track project metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of project management experience in the steel fabrication or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software for design review and project planning.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a strong plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP systems for project quoting, tracking and resource management.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
