🎯 Role Overview
The Business Intelligence Engineer (Power BI) role involves supporting a life sciences client by owning the full data workflow from source to visualization. The role combines aspects of being an Analyst, Engineer, and Architect to build an end-to-end business intelligence solution. 🚀
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement star schema models and semantic layers for consistent and scalable reporting ⭐
- Perform source-to-target data mapping, including building data lineage documentation 🗺️
- Define and document key business KPIs and metrics 📊
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align on data definitions and reporting needs🤝
- Develop Power BI dashboards and outputs based on the underlying data models 📈
✅ What You Bring
- Experience across the full data workflow: from source analysis and modeling through to dashboard development in Power BI 💻
- Expertise in data architecture concepts, including dimensional modeling, data lineage, and semantic models 🧠
- Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX and building user-friendly dashboards 🧰
- Capable of writing complex SQL queries through to big picture thinking 🧐
