Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly proficient Linux Expert with experience in managing and optimizing Squid Proxy and RADIUS servers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining these services in a secure, scalable Linux environment to support enterprise network access control and web caching/proxy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Squid Proxy servers on Linux platforms to optimize web traffic, caching, and filtering.
- Deploy and manage RADIUS servers (e.g., FreeRADIUS) for authentication, authorization, and accounting in network environments.
- Integrate Squid and RADIUS with Active Directory, LDAP, or other identity management systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune performance of Squid and RADIUS services to ensure high availability and security.
- Implement access control policies, filtering rules, and authentication mechanisms.
- Maintain system security by applying patches, updates, and configuring firewalls.
- Analyze logs and metrics for both Squid and RADIUS to diagnose issues and improve system performance.
- Develop scripts or automation tools to streamline administration and reporting.
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to meet organizational requirements.
- Document system configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.
- Patching and remediation of Security Vulnerabilities in Linux servers
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of hands-on experience administering Linux systems (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, or similar).
- Strong expertise configuring and managing Squid Proxy servers.
- Solid experience with RADIUS servers, preferably FreeRADIUS, including configuration and integration.
- Understanding of authentication protocols (PAP, CHAP, EAP, PEAP).
- Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall management.
- Experience with identity management integration (LDAP, Active Directory).
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, Perl).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of security best practices in Linux environments.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other proxy technologies or authentication services.
- Knowledge of VPN and wireless authentication workflows.
- Understanding of network security tools and concepts (firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Centreon).
- Relevant certifications such as RHCE, LPIC, or equivalent.
