What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Operator - 2nd Shift position at Teknor Apex Company?
This position will support and maintain all operational activities as they relate to the Computer Room system (iSeries), peripheral equipment, operating system software, and associated third party software. Provide basic helpdesk support during shift. Other responsibilities include: document systems malfunctions, error conditions and abnormal job termination; perform recovery from errors and job terminations; provide management with timely and accurate reports.
Master Control:
- Monitor iSeries for optimal performance
- Monitor production systems; including iSeries, servers and applications using defined tools.
- Monitor batch workload schedules
- Monitor backups and restores
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Support iSeries technical support needs
- Communicate with users and department personnel for problem resolution
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- The position requires 2-4 years of related experience.
- Work consists of moderately complex procedures and tasks where basic analytic ability is required as in the comparison of numbers, selection of appropriate guidelines and procedures, or identification of appropriate guidelines and procedures, or identification of appropriate actions to follow.
- The position has moderate physical effort that requires lifting, carrying and moving materials or supplies.
- Hours: Monday - Friday 4:30pm-12:30am; must be available for occasional overtime
