What You Will Learn:
- Monitor Data Center Operations**: Ensure all servers, network devices, and infrastructure are functioning optimally by monitoring system alerts and performance metrics.
- Hardware Installation & Maintenance**: Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server racks, cabling, and related hardware.
- Troubleshooting**: Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and network issues, escalating more complex problems to management team members when necessary.
- Inventory Management**: Track and manage inventory of data center equipment and ensure proper documentation of installations and hardware replacements.
- Environmental Monitoring**: Keep an eye on temperature, humidity, and airflow to maintain optimal conditions for data center equipment.
- Cabling and Connectivity**: Install, organize, and troubleshoot network cabling, patch panels, and other physical connections.
- Safety and Security Compliance**: Adhere to safety protocols and security guidelines to ensure the integrity of the data center environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including hardware replacements, installations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaboration**: Work closely with technicians, engineers, and support teams to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and improve data center efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications (CompTIA A , Network , etc.) are a plus.
- Basic Knowledge of Hardware**: Use of basic hand tools.
- Willingness to Learn: Enthusiastic about expanding your knowledge in data center operations and IT infrastructure.
- Attention to Detail**: Ability to follow instructions precisely and ensure tasks are completed to the highest standard.
- Team Player**: Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements**: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods of time.
