It Security Engineer

We are seeking an IT Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing enterprise-level information technology security analysis and assistance. This role involves managing and monitoring intrusion detection/prevention systems and hardware/software firewalls, as well as conducting both proactive and reactive vulnerability and risk analyses.
Specific Responsibilities:

• Enterprise endpoint detection and response administration, desired.
• Enterprise security incident and event management system administration, desired.
• Provides enterprise-level information technology security analysis and assistance within the Office of Information Technology.
• Manage and monitor intrusion detection/prevention systems and hardware/software firewalls.
• Conduct both proactive and reactive vulnerability and risk analyses of existing systems and perform existing procedures for risk mitigation. Follow implementation plans to remove vulnerabilities.
• Install, update, and monitor enterprise endpoint protection systems.
• Assist in the review of firewall change requests and make changes to firewalls when the approval and review process is complete.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving network and application issues that may have security implications.

Top Skills Details:

• 1-3 years of experience providing security analysis and assistance, managing & monitoring intrusion detection/prevention systems and hardware/software firewalls.
• Conduct both proactive and reactive vulnerability and risk analyses of existing systems and perform existing procedures for risk mitigation. Follow implementation plans to remove vulnerabilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree in a technical field and 3 years' experience working in a role dedicated specifically to information security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, endpoint detection and response, or a bachelor's degree in a technical field and 1 year of experience working in a role dedicated specifically to information security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, endpoint detection and response, or a bachelor's degree in a technical field and 4 years' experience working in a system administrator role with demonstrated IT security responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49000.00 - $64000.00
