Summary
The Assistant Controller will oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable activities and will utilize scorecard metrics to measure performance within the department. In addition, the Assistant Controller will ensure the accuracy of all general ledger accounts and manage the monthly closing process. This role will also coordinate all activities related to the companys monthly financial statements and annual audit report.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Ensure accuracy of all general ledger accounts so that timely and complete financial statements can be issued.
- Assist in preparation financial reports and statements, by gathering and analyzing information from the appropriate Telaid finance systems.
- Analyze results and report variances against budget and expectations. Recommend corrective actions
- Calculate and issue financial metrics.
- Generate monthly bank borrowing base.
- Manage activities related to the companies audited financial statements.
- Recommend report updates or consolidation when necessary
Supervisory Functions
- Assist in oversight of daily operations of the Finance Department
- Supervise Accounts Payable Managers and assist in supervising Accounts Receivable
- Perform QDCs (Quarterly Development Conversations).
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Approve large dollar customer credits.
- Review construction accounting documents including AIA billings and lien releases.
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all available discounts are taken on accounts payable.
- Ensure all local, state, and federal taxes are paid.
General Accounting
- Maintain fixed asset and lease schedules.
- Set up leases, coordinate termination or renewal of leases.
- Prepare annual property tax returns (multiple)
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
Internal Controls
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Other
- Drive and recommend system or process improvements to improve daily, weekly, monthly and annual end to end financial management activities
- Help install and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, within your team and key supporting groups, including the Telaid project teams and Telaid Technology Service Center.
- Oversee sales tax audits
- Assist in the budgeting process.
- Respond to CFO requests with accurate and timely work to facilitate his financial needs.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Qualifications
Work Experience & Education
- The Assistant Controller candidate should have a bachelors degree in accounting and 10 years of progressively responsible experience. Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.

Base Pay will be Annual Salary based on experience
