What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tower Technician I position at Telecom Construction Services Inc?
Description
Conducts site prep including assembly, painting, kitting, labeling and color coding- Conducts equipment inspections and completes proper documentation
- Installs, replaces, and troubleshoots wireless equipment based on direction
- Installs lugs on ground wires, completes exothermic welding, and installs other hardware based on direction
- Sets up and properly secures ladders and assists with rigging tower as needed
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Follows all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent- Must be able to communicate and understand verbal instructions in English
- Knowledge and proper use of various hand tools and power tools
- Willing to travel and work long hours/weekends/overnights as needed
- Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check
Physical/Work Requirements
Employee will regularly climb a vertical structure as needed, typically between 100 and 300 feet, but could be up to or over 500 feet above ground level- Employee will regularly lift and carry over 80 pounds
- Employee will be required to work overhead
- Employee will regularly twist, bend, stand, crawl, or kneel to perform job
- Employee will periodically hand dig trenches
- Work environment is primarily outside and as such presents varying, sometimes extreme, weather conditions
