Overview

At Telepathic, we’re building the world’s first autonomous SEO department and are looking for an exceptional Agent Engineer as a fourth team member.

We recently raised from some of the best in the business: Cofounder, CEO @ Perplexity; Cofounder, CTO @ Slack; s16 vc; and many more. We’re rapidly iterating our product with paying customers of various sizes.

The company

You’ll be joining a team who know what they’re doing. Killian (Founder) was previously a CTO, is an Entrepreneur First alumn, and has also built rockets & Hyperloop pods in the past. We’re all founders by trade, technical, and love delivering value for customers at speed.

We’ve not even launched publicly yet and are already growing super quickly with brands you already know as customers.

The why

We’re building the world’s first autonomous SEO department.

We’re doing this because we want to help the best brands get found. Search is rapidly changing right now and there’s a huge opportunity to change organic marketing permanently. Soon, the internet will be navigated primarily by agents and buying decisions will largely determined by AIs, only with final human approval.

We’re building an AI-native search department to allow your brand to get found.

What if this works? The market for this is enormous. Over $80bn/year is spent on SEO and this will increase when more and more of buying journey happens before even talking to sales. Help us change search for the internet.

The person

The most important things are that you have exceptional ability and can take responsibility.

Signs this might be for you:

• Agentic: You’re someone who has huge influence over outcomes.
• Ownership: You likely have been or want to be a founder. We’re a team of founders and you’ll have founding-level ownership of what you build, what technology you use, and why you’re building it.
• Technical mastery: We don’t care what languages you know. The skills required to be a programmer are changing on a monthly basis. We also expect you to be using AI for pretty much every part of everything you build. That said, you must be a fantastic engineer who can release high quality, reliable code fast. Experience level is flexible.
• Fast learner: Nobody’s perfect. Instead we want to be able to share feedback frequently, and receive feedback from you. This should be the fastest learning period of your career.
• Fun: We want to make this the most enjoyable chapter of your life.

You likely won’t like it here if:

• You want easy work. What we’re doing is really tough. This requires the best people working at their very best on complex problems. Expect intensity and expect to be rewarded with promotions, benefits, and autonomy for A* work and us to part ways for anything less.
• You don’t care about delivering customer value. Programming is super important but this isn’t the place to patiently write complex code. Instead, it’s about finding shortcuts and simplifications to deliver huge value for customers.

The role

You’ll be doing the following:

• Engineering leadership: Craft the architecture and establish technical standards that will set the tone for years to come.
• Full stack coding: It’s no problem if you’re stronger in frontend, backend, devops but ultimately you’ll need to ship features across the stack, balancing speed and technical debt.
• Product vision: Collaborate with customers to build a beautiful, intuitive, valuable product. Have say in the company strategy and product direction.

• React Typescript (Tailwind)
• Supabase
• Railway (node) but mostly serverless

The logistics

Location

We really believe in-person teams work best and so would expect you to be located in SF. If you’re not here we can help you relocate (expenses, potentially visas, accommodation search). We work from Soma, San Francisco - surrounded by some of the best founders (many other teams backed by Sequoia, AI grant, YC, etc.).
