What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Temperpack?
Maintenance Technician
- Ability to follow guidelines, specifications, standards & regulations, and influence best practices to accomplish work.
- Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities; designate and monitor the work of personnel to achieve the completion of diverse tasks in relation to building and equipment.
- Adherence to safety practices and principles relevant to machine and people safety/LOTO.
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment and tools in a clean, secure, and appropriate working condition.
- Exhibit customer service professionalism daily even when dealing with difficult customers.
- Support production personnel, trouble shoot automation equipment and process.
- Adhere to the maintenance PM schedule, filling out documentation properly in a timely fashion.
- Work with the team adding valuable input to improve processes and safety.
- Identify non-critical issues before imminent failure.
- Proper documentation of parts inventory.
- Promote work safe conditions in the facility.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and high-level efficiency of hand tools, power tools, drill press, grinders, etc. Knowledge of safe working practices with rotating and high voltage machinery.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements including lock-out/tag-out, confined spaces, MSDS, etc.
- Working knowledge of motor control circuits
- Ability to disassemble and assemble gearboxes, pumps.
- Ability to identify and measure critical tolerances or dimensions.
- Ability to work cohesively with other team members, and to contribute positively to the work environment.
Experience:
- Experience with extrusion or lamination machines or comparable manufacturing process.
- Experience in industrial process equipment and instrumentation.
Education and Certifications:
- HS diploma or GED required, Technical or Vocation School, preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Be on your feet for 10-12 hours
- Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted.
- Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
- Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
