LOCATION: Tinker AFB
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Structural Engineer to perform and oversee engineering designs of all types of structural infrastructure and/or facilities for Tinker AFB. The structural Engineer will develop construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Designs may include facility design, working closely with other disciplines, or may be stand-alone structural projects. Projects may include field measurements/data gathering, calculations and/or CAD/BIM designing by the engineer. It is preferred that the successful candidate have experience working with at least one of the following entities: Federal, state, and local governments.
Job Functions:
- Serves as the structural engineering subject matter expert. Perform the design of and direct the development of the construction drawings and develop specifications for civil and/or structural engineering systems such as vertical facilities, systems, and components, for the construction of new or rehabilitation of existing structures.
- Evaluate projects to determine the most appropriate and economical systems to serve a facility.
- Oversees the preparation of, or prepares, original design and preliminary and final layout of civil/structural projects, including size, capacity, and economy.
- Participate in a final on-site inspection.
- Performs contract-related services such as writing scope of work, site surveys, contractor selection, negotiations, construction performance monitoring, product design, design review of internal and external A/E designs, and evaluation, inspection, and acceptance of bids.
- Prepares detailed independent government estimates for obtaining project funding and bid evaluation and prepares complete construction document packages suitable for construction contract advertisement.
- Performs other duties as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program required
- 10 years of structural engineering experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Project experience with federal, state, local government, and private clients
Preferred
- Previous Federal Government project design experience
- Knowledge of design for Department of Defense facilities
- Knowledge of the Internal Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, ASCE 7, ACI Standards, AISC Standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar
- Understanding of design best practices
- Capability of supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- Advanced understanding of design best practices
- Strong oral and written communication skills
