Machine Operator

Location: Huntley, IL Position: Machine Operator I Shift: 11pm- 7am Pay: $22.72/hour $2.00/hour shift differential Summary: With general supervision, sets-up the proper tooling needed in the thermoforming machines and operates the machines per job specifications. Job Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Sets up thermoforming machines for operation per job specifications. Mounts dies and molds and loads rolls of raw materials into the machine. 2. Engages machine to produce thermoformed parts and maintains continuous operation. Performs troubleshooting and quality control checks. 3. Performs routine maintenance on thermoforming machines. 4. Completes required job tickets. 5. Works with Packer/Inspectors to resolve any quality issues as needed. 6. Directs Packers/Inspectors to work in other areas when machine is down for troubleshooting or set up. 7. Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area. 8. Performs other work duties or functions as assigned. Physical and Visual Activities/Demands: 1. Standing, walking, bending, reaching, reading, writing and talking. 2. Lifting up to 50 pounds. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Ability to continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the day. 2. Good written and verbal communication skills 3. Good manual dexterity and agility. 4. Good leadership skills. Experience 1. High school Diploma or equivalent 2. 6 months set up operator experience 3. 1-year previous production line experience preferred Machines, Tools, and Equipment 1. Thermoformers and hand-held tools Environmental Demands: 1. Exposure to heat, toxic fumes, greases, and lubricants. Skill Levels Level I: 1. Uses and reads calipers. 2. Self-starting, willing to learn, does other tasks as required. 3. Knowledge about basic math and English skills to complete paperwork. 4. Has good communication skills and is an active team member. 5. Maintains a 97% attendance record. 6. Keeps accurate daily box counts. 7. Runs the specified number of parts on each job. 8. Maintains a good working relationship with inspectors and operators. 9. Knows and verifies specification requirements of each part. 10. Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area. 11. Assists in setting up machines as needed.
