Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Yard Driver to join our team for PART TIME work. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving vehicles and equipment within the drop yard.
This is a part time position for 12-24 hours a week. Work will be every Saturday and Sunday from 6pm-6am.
Duties include moving 53' trailers between the drop yard and loading dock, placing and removing jack stands, securing trailer doors, visual inspection of 5th wheel engagement and manually raising landing legs.
Hourly pay is $30 per hour. Pay is direct deposit every Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Ottowa and Capacity spotting tractors and 53' trailers.
- Move vehicles and equipment within the yard according to instructions and safety guidelines.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Load and unload materials as needed.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and prioritize work.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a yard driver or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to vehicle operation and heavy equipment handling.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Required Skills:
- Must have 1 year previous experience as a yard spotter.
