Campland on the Bay and Mission Bay RV Resort are full-service, destination RV resorts. Located in the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego, we occupy beautiful acreage on Mission Bay east of Crown Point. We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team! You will resolve computer-related issues for our employees and guests. The IT specialist position installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to company IT infrastructure, personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to users. Assists guests to connect to resorts' WIFI. Resolves minor connection issues with company smart phones to Outlook. Installs cables and supports personal computers, peripheral equipment, networks, and communications equipment. Helps users with software and hardware problems or questions with a high degree of patience, technical expertise, and timeliness. $19.00-$21.63/hour DOE. Weekend hours required as well as evenings if called in. EOE.
On any given day, you’ll do several or all of these tasks (and maybe something completely different):
• Assist guests to connect to resort WIFI.
• Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on employees’ desks.
• Load software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
• Assist in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
• Provide telephone, in-person and online support to employees and guests.
• Respond to after-hours assistance requests about company point of sales software or hardware and RDP. “Responding” includes physically coming to the resort to fix problems.
• Provide updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication.
• Access video-viewing software to find clips from specific dates and times. Timely provide copies of clips to requesting manager.
• Run business-related errands using personal vehicle.
• Administer e-mail and anti-virus systems.
• Rotate back-up media.
• Assist in research and procurement of computer accessories, supplies, licenses and other matters as the IT manager directs.
Qualifications:
• A friendly, helpful and patient demeanor.
• Ability to comfortably, constantly and effectively interact with people.
• At least a year working as a help-desk technician within the last three years.
• Fluency with current IT troubleshooting and support methods.
• Broad knowledge of PC hardware and software, networking principles including connectivity principles and practice.
• Broad experience and knowledge with operating systems, languages, topographies, LANs and WIFI.
• Ability to travel occasionally to TMV properties in Orange County, work overtime and respond to after-hours calls.
Required education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current A certification.
• Clean driving record or have own vehicle and current CA driver’s license and car insurance.
