Job Summary

While the job can be challenging, Terrapin House is focused on supporting and educating staff to meet each individual's medical and behavioral needs. Terrapin House may be small, but our vision of what is possible is not.
We're currently hiring staff to support a 24-year-old Autistic non-verbal young man who lives in his own home, specifically designed to meet his needs. He enjoys going out into the community to explore local parks, amusement parks, trampoline parks, his favorite local eateries, and more. He also loves using his computer and other devices to watch his favorite shows. He has a great sense of humor and a smile that lights up the room.
We are looking for direct support professional experienced in providing a safe environment, while supporting choice, independence, and individual rights. Staff will learn how to best serve the individuals at Terrapin House through paid training on all aspects of their specific needs as well as state regulations. Staff will be paid to complete training on the Individual Support Plans, Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP), Professional Crisis Management (PCM), 6400/6100 Regulations, Medication Administration, information specific to each individual’s diagnoses, and more. All mandatory trainings must be completed prior to working in ratio with the individuals, but employees are expected to participate in supplemental paid trainings year-round. Qualifications
- Associate's degree and/or Registered Behavior Technician certification preferred
- .First aid and CPR certified
- Must possess OR be capable of obtaining FBI, and PA Criminal background
- Must be able to obtain a completed Physical Examination and TB test.
