SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor and the general direction of the Gravity Drainage Superintendent. The incumbent is responsible for the operation and maintenance of truck assigned by the Operations Supervisor in all phases of work in the Gravity Drainage Division.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates dump truck effectively in all tasks assigned by Supervisor or Superintendent.
2. Maintain assigned Dump Truck and reports all mechanical problems to immediate Supervisor for repairs.
3. Exercises reasonable care in truck operation.
4. Willing to learn basic use of surveyor level to set grades on ditches and culverts.
5. Performs other duties as required by Supervisor.
6. Applicant will practice all applicable safety rules and regulations.
7. Must be fairly knowledgeable of the Terrebonne Parish roads.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be capable and willing to work with other personnel.
2. Must be capable of learning and practicing safety rules and regulations.
3. Must be able to show proof of experience in operating large trucks.
4. Must be capable of lifting 75 to 100 pounds.
5. Must have some Dump Truck maintenance knowledge to keep machine in working order.
6. Must have and maintain a minimum Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. High school graduate highly desired.
2. Must be capable of reading and writing sufficiently to understand and carry out basic instructions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.11 - $16.39 per hour
