Position summary:
Responsible for the delivery of the academically aligned programs and supervision for the children of the YMCA’s Out of School Time programs.
Reports To: OST Director/Coordinator
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Provide leadership and demonstrate the ability to set and maintain limits for children using positive reinforcement
- Provide input and implementation toward the development of a well-rounded academically aligned curriculum
- Assist Site Director/Coordinator in planning and carrying out activities during school vacation weeks, half days, and other days off from school
- Provide supervision to children at all times, on-site or off-site.
- Arrive on time and ready to engage with staff, students, and parents with no distractions providing visual surveillance of program participants
- Assist the Site Director/Coordinator in maintaining records involving attendance, sign/in-sign/out sheets, and program supplies
- Maintain good public relations with parents and school personnel and understand that you represent the YMCA and maintain a positive disposition, demeanor and attire
- Attempt to answer parents’ concerns and make appropriate referrals to Site Director/Coordinator
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling for special events and be available to work at other sites when needed
- Report accidents and injuries and complete incident reports immediately and turn into appropriate personnel.
- Work in harmony and cooperation with the staff, community partners, school personnel, participant families and members of the YMCA.

Education and/or Experience
18 years of age or older and a High school diploma or GED and formal training in childcare. Should have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well with children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with program goals.
