SUMMARY : The IT Infrastructure Administrators role is to plan, organize and manage Teton Countys technology infrastructure, on-premises and cloud-based, to ensure the reliable operation of Teton County government services. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data storage and data communications. Duties also include analyzing and resolving advanced end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and coaching / mentoring junior members of the information technology team.

Manage server, security, network and cloud infrastructure solutions (includes design and capacity planning, administration of access permissions, asset management, system backups and security audits)Manage technology implementation projectsConducts research on infrastructure products, services, standards and recommends improvements, upgrades and repairs (may include negotiating directly with vendors and contractors)Monitors infrastructure availability, responds and resolves technology infrastructure incidents and outagesCreates and updates infrastructure documentation (including infrastructure diagrams, procedures and playbooks)Coaches and provides guidance to junior members of the IT TeamMaintains confidentiality of Teton County protected informationSupports inter-departmental relationships with Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and Teton County staff.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education and Experience :
Bachelors Degree in technology related majorAND 5-7 years recent progressive professional experience in an enterprise network environmentOR e quivalent combination of education, training, andRequired Licenses and Certifications :
CompTIA Network CompTIA Security Microsoft Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator AssociateMust possess a valid Wyoming / Idaho Drivers License and maintain an acceptable drivingMust acquire and maintain CompTIA and Microsoft CertificationsPreferred / Desirable Qualifications :
Recent professional experience in a municipal or government settingOne or more of the following certifications : Cisco Certified Networking Associate, Aruba Certified Switching Associate, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer, Nutanix Certified ProfessionalKnowledge & Experience :
Working technical knowledge of network operating systems, e.g. Cisco NX-OS, ArubaOS, PAN-OS.Working technical knowledge of desktop, server operating systems and virtualization technology, e.g. Windows 10 / 11 Professional / Enterprise, Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Nutanix PrismWorking technical knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure technology, e.g. Microsoft Azure and M365, AWSWorking technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standardsGood understanding of the Teton County government goals and objectives.Good understanding of safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions in IT work sitesKnowledge of Teton County policies and procedures including securityKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.Hands-on hardware, software and network troubleshooting experience.Experience creating network documentation, knowledge base articles, standard operating proceduresExperience with IT project management, as a lead project resource and / or project coordinator or project managerExperience with technology and cybersecurity incident management, as a lead resourcePersonal Attributes :

Work is performed in a standard office and around Teton County facilities.Full manual dexterity and visual acuity are required to work in confined spaces and use precision tools and equipmentRequires vision capacity to perform fine calibrations and differentiate between colored wires.On-call availability for 7-10 days per month.Sitting for extended periods of time.Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
