Position Purpose:
The IT Specialist provides high-level information technology services and support for Teton Science Schools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or current information technology certifications (MCSE, CCNP, A , Network , Security ) with 3 years of experience preferred
- Problem-solving and project management skills, and the ability to work with colleagues and vendors to improve and refine technology infrastructure
- Experience managing information technology systems in an organizational setting
- Experience with setup and administration of networks and networking equipment
- Experience using and managing Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Apps
- Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory
- Experience providing service to colleagues and customers via telephone, chat, email, and in-person interactions
- Experience administering cloud-based applications
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers over different channels including phone calls, chat, video calls, email, helpdesk software, and in-person interactions
- May be expected to work evenings, weekends, or overtime to support special projects, events or emergencies
- Must be able to bend/stoop/reach and lift up to 50 pounds; able to climb stairs and ladders; able to crawl and maneuver through tight spaces
- Primarily based at Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools with travel to TSS campus locations in Victor, Wilson, Kelly, and Moose.
Responsibilities:
Tech Support
- Provides first-level user support for technology users at TSS
- Configures, deploys, manages, repairs, and recycles computers, phones, printers, network equipment, projectors, audio equipment, and other technology for TSS employees and students
- Facilitate onboardings and trainings for employees and students
- Manages the organization’s computer and technology inventory
- Supports technology and audio-visual equipment in classrooms and at events
- Manages user accounts and policies for Google Workspace for Education, Active Directory, and other applications
- Assists with implementation and enforcement of IT security policies, including account security, device management, and user education
Planning and Research
- Conducts research to identify potential applications for new and emerging instructional technologies
- Reviews and evaluates new developments in technology to support administrative and programmatic needs
- Creates, maintains, and updates documentation and training resources
One TSS Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively across departments to ensure that technology supports organizational goals and aligns with TSS's mission.
- Participates in Hands-to-Work community responsibilities, including weekly cleaning of shared spaces.
- Actively contributes to and practices TSS values.
