The work we do every day saves lives and builds hope for the future. Texas Institute for Surgery of Dallas, provides detoxification of drug and alcohol addiction treatment services. Seeking a detox nurse, PRN to provide medical care in our Medically Monitored Detox Unit in Dallas, TX. This position offers nurses to work autonomously in conjunction with our Medical Director and other team members on a weekly as needed basis. Our work is mission-driven, supported by a strong culture of teamwork and a compassionate environment that is the foundation of the organization.

JOB SUMMARY

  • The Human Resources Generalist, located at our Dallas, TX hospital, is primarily responsible for supporting the employee population and providing additional human resources support for various projects and initiatives. The HR Generalist will perform a broad range of administrative and technical duties within the Human Resources department. 

 PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Engages in full cycle recruiting for all open positions in assigned departments: posting, sourcing, recruiting, phone screens, interviewing, career fair attendance, and  including sending out offer letters.
  • Ensures and maintains the accuracy and concise records of reports concerning all phases of the recruitment process in compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Support and execute onboarding process for all new employees in assigned departments: initiate onboarding process with HR, conduct new hire orientations, create new employee files, support managers through assimilation and training plan development
  • Act as a main point of contact for new hire communications
  • Provide exemplary customer service to all employees, ensuring timely and accurately responses to requests, and escalating important issues which arise
  • Complete all administrative duties as correlates to employee counseling notices and terminations per a progressive discipline policy
  • Supports compensation and benefit plan communication, including individual employee guidance.
  • Resource for employees regarding employee medical, dental and vision plan benefits
  • Assists with the coordination of employee events to promote employee engagement
  • Supports community outreach initiatives
  • Ensures accurate maintenance of all personnel records and reports, including compliance with all state, local and federal requirements.
  • Conducts and supports HR related employee audits to ensure compliance with current accreditation standards
  • Helps HR management in the development, revision, implementation and communication of company policy, procedures and administrative practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees and management at all levels
  • Detail-oriented, organized and can handle confidential, sensitive information
  • Adaptable to change in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of HR law (FMLA, FLSA, GINA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • This position will find some situations and information stressful and sensitive, requiring a high degree of maturity, poise, and discretion, confidentiality along with strong personal ethics and integrity.
  • This role requires the HR Generalist to maintain  current knowledge of federal, state and local laws, and regulations regarding Equal Employment Opportunity, wages, hours, working conditions, labor relations, employee benefits and welfare programs, Unemployment Compensation and Worker’s Compensation among other things.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Required Education / Experience

  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience focusing on recruiting and HR practices
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education / Experience

  • Associates or Bachelors’ degree in related field
  • Experience working in a medical, healthcare, dental or hospital environment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment and production floor, required to be in the office 5 days a week
