- Master’s degree or higher in a related field.
Job Description
The Office of Institutional Research at Texas State University seeks a dynamic candidate to support our data management, analytics, and reporting efforts. As a member of our team, you will support institutional decision-making by assisting with data management, data quality, and data literacy efforts across the University. Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research/Chief Data Management Officer, you will consult with functional and academic offices to help guide their data management efforts. Working with other members of the Office of Institutional Research staff, you will assist in the transformation, storage, and management of data using a variety of tools (e.g., SQL Developer, MS SQL Server Management Studio, Tableau Prep, Qualtrics) and database systems (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Tableau Server.)
Job Duties
- Work with subject matter experts to document metadata for data assets, elements, and reports.
- Help implement data management projects for functional offices.
- Identify data quality metrics and conduct regular data quality audits.
- Translate functional and academic data needs to technical specifications.
- Assist with the design and creation of standardized data sources and interactive dashboards.
- Recommend improvements to data management policies and standards.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with other offices on campus.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of procedural documentation.
- Assist with management of internal survey administration.
- Perform other duties related to data management and institutional research as assigned.
