Inventory Distribution Tech

Texoma Regional Blood Center in Sherman, TX is looking for one inventory distribution tech to join our 24 person strong team. We are located on 3911 Texoma Pkwy. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged.

Responsibilities

• Performs component preparation and processing of blood units to include: centrifugation and manipulation of blood units to create different blood products, labeling of products, entering of products into the computer, and accurate storage of created products according to Texoma Regional Blood Center’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Pouch platelets for bacterial testing and document results.
• Release blood and platelets after bacterial testing is complete.
• Complete all paperwork and box the FRPS monthly shipments.
• Pick up whole blood units collected at mobile blood drives.
• Box biohazard waste for disposal.
• Perform and document quality control records for daily, weekly, monthly, biannual and quarterly QC on all equipment and freezers including changing temperature charts weekly.
• Record and maintain records on daily product usage at hospital accounts.
• Maintain hospital account inventory level by importing and exporting products both within the

computer system and physically to and from the hospitals.

• Assist with answering questions or correcting problems that arise with hospital account inquiries.
• Assist with problem solving of returns and consignment tickets, as to maintain accurate records of

product disposition.

• Provide accurate and timely inventory information to appropriate departments
• Document final disposition of all transfused products in the computer system.
• Fuel, wash, and maintain blood center vehicles as needed or directed.
• Perform all delivery/pickup functions required in a timely and efficient manner.
• Will be required to sit, stand, lift, and drive to and from hospitals and mobile blood drives.
• Must be very accurate and meticulous with all work performed.
• Assumes the responsibility for neatness and cleanliness of the inventory/distribution department and mobile vehicles.
• Must maintain equipment in good working order and report any broken equipment to the

Inventory/Distribution Tech Supervisor.

• Must be able to work well in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
• Is required to keep all protected donor medical information confidential.
• Must be well informed of Texoma Regional Blood Center’s Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel Policies and be supportive of those policies and procedures.
• Must be computer literate in all functions relating to job requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Self-motivation, self-discipline, attention to detail, and flexibility in schedule are required. Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Effective communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to maintain composure in unusual or stressful situations are desirable characteristics. PLEASE NOTE: This position does require rotational on-call hours. 1-2 weeks a month in the evening (7 pm-7 am) and approximately 1 weekend a month.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $13.50/hour.
