JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Operations Coordinator
DEPARTMENT NAME: Operations
REPORTING TO TITLE: Operations Supervisors/Managers, Operations Manager;

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Operations Coordinator (OpsCo) position is responsible for the daily pick up and delivery coordination of customer’s service requests; to drivers, assisting driver load out in the warehouse, making sure the floor is clean and ready to receive next day’s freight after load out, and monitor the progress of all e-comm drivers throughout the day to determine if we need to shift resources.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitoring 50 drivers after dispatch.
· Determine throughout the day if resources need to be shifted to other areas to ensure 100% delivery compliance.
· Monitor phones and the dispatch board during the evening.
· Respond within 10 minutes to any callbacks, messages or cancellations.
· Encourage and motivate all drivers to meet maximum potential while maintaining delivery time specifications.
· Help drivers with load – out.
· Make sure loading area is clean and prepared for the next days load-out after all drivers have loaded.
· Maintain professionalism, respect, fairness and dignity in all driver relationships.
· Orientation and motivation as required relating to the drivers.
· Recognize and prioritize—alert for immediate dispatch.
· Identify and ensure all customers are given 100% performance on deliveries.
· Ensure on-time work completion and prompt pick-up in accordance with established standards of service.
· Provide assistance to other dispatch boards.
· Provide assistance to distribution as well as other departments.
· Provide Dispatch Supervisor/Operations Management with information on equipment failures and problems.
· Perform 35-40% general warehouse duties including loading/unloading, sortation, etc…
· Other duties as required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· High School graduate or GED required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Must possess excellent knowledge of the city and suburb being dispatched.
· Minimum two years experience in the logistics industry.
· Must possess outstanding verbal communication skills.
· Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
· Must possess the ability to work under pressure.
· Must possess a minimum of 6 months of computer skills.
· Must possess the ability to exercise good judgement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be able to lift more than 25lbs.
