What are the responsibilities and job description for the Relief Teacher Aide position at The Adirondack Arc?
Responsibilities
- Responsible for supervising children to support a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
- Assists children with daily routines and activities, including but not limited to: bathroom, food preparations, etc.
- Follows instructional plans as outlined by the teacher.
- Arranges classroom in preparation for Teacher’s daily lessons
- Maintains proper sanitation and cleanliness levels of the classroom
- Report progress as outlined by the teacher.
- The Teacher Aide will share the responsibility with the teacher for the care of property and equipment.
- Attends mandatory program trainings and staff meetings, when applicable
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- NYS Teacher Aide Certification preferred.
- Previous experience working with disabled preschool children preferred
- Valid NYS driver’s license with one year licensed driving experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude towards working with children
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $16.20 - $19.95 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
