Creating an estimate is the first action to happen on a project, it's the stage where everything is ideal and where customer goals are discussed. As an Estimator you must understand all aspects of the construction process, means, methods, schedule and of course costs to create an accurate estimate. At the same time, Estimators foster and maintain relationships with clients and trade partners. As part of the sales process, you will need to meet with clients, listen to what they want to accomplish, and develop a strategy on how The Alan Group can help them achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately bid profitable projects by following our estimating processes from beginning to end with detail and consistency
• This isn't a typical estimating position in that most of our projects are bid conceptually by working with clients to problem-solve a job
• Administer the buy-out process with trade partners and the Project Manager to write detailed scopes of work
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, architects and trade partners
• As an Estimator for The Alan Group, you will be responsible for representing our brand in a professional manner, which includes dress, demeanor, and language.

Qualifications:

• 2 years' experience in estimating or project managing in general contracting/construction management
• 2 years of demonstrated proficiency in accurately bidding commercial construction projects between $250,000 and $50 million
• Ability to create solutions and resolve problems on the projects such as supply chain issues, drawing errors, etc.
• Commitment to deliver bids by posted deadlines, if not prior to deadline
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel formulas and spreadsheets. Our estimates are created using excel templates and proposals are created in Word
• Be able to present a project to prospective clients, trade partners and suppliers

• Salary $100,000 -$150,000 depending on demonstrated experience and skill
