Team Overview: The CBS Station’s Local Ad Sales team is responsible for driving political revenue growth across all 28 owned & operated CBS Television Stations.
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Political Account Executive to join our Political team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving all linear sales for assigned markets within the group. This role requires positive relationship & time management skills, a deep understanding of the political advertising landscape, and the ability to complete sales strategies & outstanding client service.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving all linear sales for assigned markets within the group. This role requires positive relationship & time management skills, a deep understanding of the political advertising landscape, and the ability to complete sales strategies & outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and advise stations on ways to create and implement Political pricing strategy for upcoming cycle.
- Maintain and develop relationships with political agencies at all levels by making regular trips to Washington DC
- Lead assigned stations in pricing and inventory approach in order to increase station revenue and grow shares.
- Achieve assigned market budgets applying tent polls such as live sports and specials.
- Coordinate sales calls with stations in order to improve face time and deepen relationships with political agencies.
- Identity any potential legal issues in political copy in accordance with FCC guidelines on as needed basis for approval.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure flawless campaign execution.
- Be able to maintain day to day order and schedule maintenance in a timely manner.
- Deep industry relationships with political buyers
- Experience in broadcast sales and a strong working knowledge of NSI, Com Score are preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization and PC skills a must.
- Major agency experience, detailed sales success. Deep knowledge and understanding of political sales process and FCC legal requirements.
- Requires effective presentation and negotiation skills.
- Minimum 5 years prior broadcast political sales experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
