Seeking Full Time Surgical Technician at the Ambulatory Surgery Center at St. Mary
Must be proficient in multiple specialties - experience in Ophthalmology preferred. Certification preferred.
Hours of Operation are Monday thru Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM. NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS!

JOB SUMMARY
Possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 1 year work experience as a surgical technician.
- BLS for all other clinical areas
- Certification preferred
OCCUPATIONALEXPOSURE
Category I exposure to blood borne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Implements care in a knowledgeable, skilled, consistent manner in reaching the desired patient outcomes through collaborating with the surgical team.
* Establish priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available center resources of time, personnel, equipment and supplies.
* Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons and documenting events.
- Demonstrates understanding of regulatory issues.
- Follows employee safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibilities.
- Works as part of a team in delivering patient care.
- Maintains BLS certification as required.
- Supports Sterile Processing as needed.
- Attends all mandatory in-services and participates in staff meetings.
- Completes all mandatory education assigned within the allotted time frame.
- Remains flexible, adaptive and able to accept and implement new ideas and approaches.
- Treats all patients equally adopting the centers Patient Rights policy.
- Work areas must be kept neat and clutter free.
- Willingness to assist with other duties when asked.
