Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Director of Safety and Health to lead and manage safety programs across our manufacturing operations. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations and promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and demonstrated experience managing safety programs in industrial or manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with RCRA regulations and hazardous waste management protocols across all facilities.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; track corrective actions to completion.
- Provide safety leadership and training to all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Oversee site-specific safety programs in Longview and provide guidance and oversight to other sites during biweekly travel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA) during inspections or compliance reviews.
- Track safety performance metrics and report trends and improvement plans to executive leadership.
- Develop and manage emergency response and preparedness plans.
- Lead safety committees and facilitate safety meetings at all sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in a safety leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and especially RCRA regulations.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), or similar certification preferred.
- Proven ability to travel frequently and work effectively across multiple locations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
