Front Desk & Reservations Agent

Job Type – $22-$24 Hourly plus Commissions, Full Time Year Round

Location – Vail, CO

Reports to – Front Desk Manager

About the Position
Our Front Desk & Reservations Agents are the face of the Antlers. You are first welcoming face our guests see upon arrival and the last one they see at departure, available to help with anything and everything in between. This is a sales-minded position with a blend of general Front Desk duties paired with fielding and booking reservations.

Front Desk Agent Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of room types, locations, nightly rates, and promotions
  • Use knowledge of property to sell rooms and aid in making choices at the time of booking
  • Describe offered services and amenities as well as deposit and cancellation policies
  • Coordinate with housekeeping & maintenance departments to track and publish status of rooms
  • Greet and check in guests upon arrival, check out upon departure
  • Process guest credit cards upon arrival and departure as necessary
  • Create work orders for maintenance department based upon guest request or as necessary
  • Answer Front Desk phones using proper phone etiquette
  • Attend department meetings and participate in trainings
  • Work with Conference Services Manager to facilitate any group needs at arrival/departure
  • Resolve any guest issues within your power with the help of your supervisor and/or Manager
  • Field and record any special requests from guests
  • Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager
  • Perform all necessary safety and emergency procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness in the Front Desk and Lobby area
  • Accommodate scheduling needs and communicate to Front Desk Manager any availability issues
  • Drive guests in complimentary GMC shuttle within the limits of Vail upon request
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management and supervisors

Reservationist Responsibilities

  • Answering phones, converting reservations, answering guest questions, and following up on holds
  • Responsible for travel/wholesale agent quotes, booking reservations and communicating with guests through the booking process.
  • Responsible for group reservations that are not part of rooming list groups
  • Coordinates deliveries of amenities and personal notes as needed
  • Tracking of every phone call into the phone tracking sheet

We’re Looking for Team Members With

  • 1-2 years Front Desk or Hospitality experience or applicable college coursework
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Calm demeanor under pressure
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to work individually or with a team
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Availability to work nights and/or weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • A passion to grow within the Hospitality industry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
