As an Employment Specialist you will assist individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities succeed in obtaining employment and provide assistance/supervision to the people we support at various work sites. A wide variety of tasks with different experiences each day. One week paid orientation followed by a week of shadowing a supervisor. In addition, there are 4 days - 6 hours each day of online training courses specifically related to your job duties.
Location: SullivanCounty, NY - Tuesday thru Sunday
Schedule: Hours vary, must be flexible with availability
Employment specialist Responsibilities:
- Provide support, training and supervision to people with Intellectual/developmental disabilities employed in community-based jobs as well as other employment services that are community based.
- Transport people supported as needed
- Evaluate, train and supervise people supported for appropriate and timely performance of assigned tasks at work site
- Make sound, independent decisions to resolve crisis situations and access community resources as necessary to insure safety, welfare and physical/emotional well-being of the people supported.
Employment Specialist Qualifications:
- All positions require a valid, clean NYS driver’s license with a minimum of one year driving experience with a Class D license.
- High School Diploma/GED
