Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities and ensuring their daily needs are met and promoting their independence. Your work will involve assisting with personal care, facilitating community engagement, and implementing individualized support plans.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and providing transportation to community activities.
- Provide support in social interactions and community involvement to enhance social skills / independence.
- Observe and document patient behaviors and progress while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure a safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and maintaining equipment used for patient care.
- Engage in physical activities that may require heavy lifting or assistance with mobility for individuals needing support.
- Administer CPR and First Aid as necessary while ensuring the health and safety of all clients.
Qualifications
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
- Auto Insurance
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (Minimum 150 pounds) as required by individual needs.
- Strong observational skills to monitor behavior effectively.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of client information.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality support services that promote dignity and respect for all individuals served.
