In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of group home facilities, ensuring the health, safety, and development of both residents and staff. Your leadership will be instrumental in creating a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Management: Oversee the daily operations of assigned group homes, ensuring overall health, safety, and development.
- Relationship Building: Create meaningful relationships with individuals served and implement person-centered support plans.
- Service Plan Implementation: Develop and implement individual service plans in collaboration with the team.
- Supervision: Independently supervise all functions of the group home, including staff and residents.
- Scheduling: Schedule staff shifts and approve earned time, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Community Engagement: Schedule and participate in various community outings with residents.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain group home facilities and perform necessary administrative tasks.
- Transportation: Transport individuals served to appointments and community activities.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience working with individuals with IDD preferred; supervisory experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills.
- Flexibility: Must be flexible with hours and available on-call daily for assigned homes.
- Requirements: Reliable transportation, valid Alabama driver’s license, and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
- Frequent lifting, standing, walking, driving, pulling, restraining, and walking up and down stairs.
