Work Readiness Achievement Program Instructor
The Arc of Monmouth supports and empowers individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities (I/DD). We are seeking a qualified person to join our organization.
Qualifications
High School Diploma (Required) Bachelor's Degree (Preferred) Teaching Experience (Preferred)
One Year Experience working with individuals with disabilities, however we will train the right person.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable record for the Arc and its insurer.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: **
- Follow the program curriculum to provide work readiness skills.
- Teach and mentor young adults with intellectual disabilities in a variety of classes.
- Engage individuals during classes to ensure participation in class activities as well as comprehension and understanding of course material.
- Teach and assist young adults to gain marketable employment skills, and develop life skills, as well as a stronger sense of social awareness.
- Obtain a baseline on the individual's work skills and collect progress data.
- Create supplemental class work for clients who desire to engage in course work outside of class.
- Develop volunteer opportunities for participants.
- Transport participants to volunteer and community inclusion events.
- Teach and monitor participants at volunteer and community events.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.70 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
