If you are a parent with a child with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), are passionate about being a voice of legislative change that would benefit those with IDD and their families and are a positive and effective force to be reckoned with, The Arc of Spokane wants YOU!
The Spokane County Parent Coalition is an organization designed to provide legislative information and resources to families of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Spokane County Parent Coalition Coordinator will share information on issues that may affect families in connection with the federal and state legislatures, government agencies and other relevant entities; support advocates in contacting their elected representatives and government agencies on their own behalf; represent The Arc of Spokane at Advocacy Days in Olympia; and provide other supports/resources to empower those with IDD and their families.

Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18
- Have a High School Diploma or GED, (Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred)
- Be a parent of a child with a disability
- Be knowledgeable in Microsoft 365
- Be willing to travel on occasional travel for special events
- Pass required background checks
- Be knowledgeable about resources and supports available in Washington State and demonstrate sensitivity and commitment toward persons with developmental disabilities and their families
- Passionate about legislative issues locally, statewide, and federally
Qualifications:
- Experience in public speaking
- Have a valid driver's license, and auto insurance.
Compensation: $21.00-$23.10. DOE starting range, entire scale to $27.30 per hour, Non-exempt, 30 hours per week, Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 13 Paid Holidays, Vacation, Sick, Personal Leave
