Job Title: Day Services Program Coordinator
Schedule/Shift: Normal working Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm
FLSA: Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director
Description:
The Day Services Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing effective programs; supervising and overseeing the everyday operations of programs and perform duties such as: scheduling and training Direct Support Professionals; observe, monitor and be included in direct care coverage. Willing and able to work in class area(s), provide support/assistance on community outings; social skills, behaviors; toileting, etc. Will involve working with other team members and ensuring that all aspects of care are delivered efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of individuals supported & accordingly to ratio guidelines; to enhance and maintain independence in life. Evaluating the program's effectiveness, supporting and measuring program goals; increasing community awareness; organizing events, overseeing activities and details; and ensuring that the program meets company goals. Contact family/care providers as needed.
Adhere to the standards set forth by The Department of Mental Health, Medicaid and The Arc of the Shoals.
The Day Services Program Coordinator is a degreed, direct care professional.
The duties will consist of (but not limited to) managing various administrative tasks- tracking the time clock/schedule/budget; performance goals and evaluations.
Other duties: As assigned related to program services and participants needs.
Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experiences
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, or Human Services or other related fields
- Experience collaborating with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Experience(s) not substituted for Education
- Previous experience is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with families, Service Coordinators and other team members.
Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to bend, lift, stoop, transfer, according to the person supported individual needs, etc.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License for at least three (3) years and maintain it throughout the duration of employment. Driver Insurance Requirement: Twenty-one years of age, and a good drivers record at hire and duration of employment.
- Pass the following screenings according to governing agencies and program policies: Criminal Background; Drug Screen and Tuberculosis skin test.
- Become and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
