At The Arc Wayne, you make a difference everyday! Our Behavior Intervention Specialists play a critical role in creating a culture of success, safety and integration to individuals supported.
A Day in the Life As A Behavior Intervention Specialist:
- Trains staff on how to implement behavior support plans, managing difficult behaviors and crisis intervention
- Provides written recommendations to our Program Coordinators and Residence Managers as well as providing consultation, training and participation in team meetings.
- Performs behavioral assessments of individuals on a regular basis and provides recommendations
- Develops, reviews and revises written behavior support plans
- Other duties as assigned
Behavior Intervention Specialist Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a clinical and/or treatment field of psychology, social work, or related clinic field or a NYS license in Mental Health Counseling OR Bachelor's Degree in a human services field and is actively working towards a Master's Degree in an applied area of psychology, social work, or special education or complete at least one graduate level course in applied health service area of applied psychology, social work, or special education each year.
- Must possess a valid NYS driver's license which meets agency driver standards.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) with flexibility to meet program needs
