Position Summary:
The Daycare Center Director will oversee the daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves managing staff, developing curriculum, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and fostering strong relationships with families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of early childhood educators and staff.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development sessions.
- Curriculum and Program Development:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and educational programs.
- Ensure activities meet the developmental needs of each child and align with the center's educational philosophy.
- Monitor and assess program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure the center complies with all state and local licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety drills and maintain accurate records of incidents and inspections.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the wellbeing of children and staff.
- Family Engagement:
- Foster strong, positive relationships with families, addressing concerns and providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
- Organize family events, parent-teacher conferences, and educational workshops.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage the center’s budget, including staffing, supplies, and facility maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, and staff schedules.
- Oversee marketing and enrollment efforts to maintain and grow the center’s population.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of state licensing requirements and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
