Position: Banquet Captain
Classification: Non-Manager
Reports To: Banquet Manager
Department: Food & Beverage
Job Purpose: The purpose of the Banquet Captain is to lead the banquet staff towards the effective operations of banquets, meetings, and other events to ensure consistent levels of service are provided.
Primary Job Function
Directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing and serving banquets, meetings, and other events.
Essential Job Functions
· Resolve customer complaints regarding food service and event experience.
· Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards are being upheld.
· Control inventories of food, beverage, equipment, smallware, and report overages/shortages to designated personnel.
· Specify food portions and courses, production and time sequences, and workstation and equipment arrangements.
· Greet and seat guests, and present menus and wine lists and other necessary event activities.
· Supervise parties and take reservations changes and make appropriate changes.
· Supervise and participate in kitchen, event space and dining area cleaning activities.
· Any other duties which may be required to ensure guest satisfaction.
