Extended Day Program Assistant (Seattle, WA)
Hourly/Non-Exempt Position
Part-Time (up to 17.5 hours per work week: 2:30pm – 6:00pm) Monday through Friday
Academic Year Calendar (10-month schedule – anticipated start date: October 2024)
- The role will also be asked to support Extended Day 8:30-4:30 during faculty in-service days and other full-day needs. The dates for these may include:

The Bush School, a K-12 progressive, independent school located in Seattle, WA, is in search of an individual to join our Extended Day Program Team as an Extended Day Program Assistant. We are seeking a candidate who is able to support the school’s goals towards building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community. The Extended Day Program Assistant reports to the school’s Extended Day Program Coordinator and works in support of the school’s after school program, serving K-8th grade students, while also supporting colleagues, faculty, staff, and outside vendors.
- While other duties may be assigned, a qualified candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks listed below:
- Supervise activities for grades K-5, while sometimes supervising grades 6-8
- Lead after school activities that include, but are not limited to the following: inside art and science activities, outside sports and free play activities, and gym sports and games that may be competitive and non-competitive
- Prepare for student snack service
- Collaborate with the Extended Day Program team regarding student programming, daily preparations, vendor oversight
Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Experience supervising school-age children required, with one or more years is preferred
- Training in education, childhood development or related field is preferred

- A willingness to participate in professional growth/development opportunities
- Have proficient skills in the use of technology: including, but not limited to, Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, and Outlook
Additional Requirements:
- Have a current Adult and Children CPR, First Aid and AED Certification (or receive one soon after hire date)
- Meet the school’s standards when completing two separate background screenings
Compensation/Benefit Information for this position:
- Salary Range: $24.00 per hour - $26.00 per hour
