Transportation Options, part of the Positive Regard Network, has openings for Monitors, providing specialized transportation services to special education students served by our schools- a great way to get experience in the education field!
Positions are per diem, Monday through Friday, up to 25 hours per week, but may lead to full time employment as an Interventionist with our private schools and school based programs. No weekend work! The position primarily involves assisting with morning and afternoon transportation runs, monitoring students on vans while they travel to and from school.
Responsibilities: - Safely and courteously monitors students as assigned during transports, utilizing the transportation environment as an extension of the classroom. Engages students in meaningful conversations and activities as appropriate. -Assists students in boarding and exiting the vehicle and assures safety restraints are utilized per state law.
Requirements: - Applicants must provide proof of a High School Diploma or GED upon hire, as well as patience, reliability and an interest in working with students with social/emotional and behavioral issues. - Strong verbal/written communication skills and the ability to work as a team member are required. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. - Monitor pay is $16.00 per hour and includes Earned Sick Time accrual.
