Retail Store Associate

Job Duties

• Responsible for sales activities and sales associate job duties: greeting customers, answering questions, taking phone calls, offering in store assistance, suggesting items, lending opinions and providing product information demonstrating outstanding customer service and selling skills

• Keeping the selling floor stocked with merchandise and clean

• Assisting in display of merchandise or organizing the selling floor and stock areas

• Assist with picking orders for customers

• Help load clay and etc. into customers vehicles

• Process payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash and store or other credit cards

• Deal with customer refunds and minor complaints courteously and professionally. Maintains a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm reflecting the store's commitment to our customers.

• Develops product knowledge by reading current vendor literature / websites and pamphlets and attending training classes, if eligible, in order to communicate it to the customer.

• Stays current with promotional events and sales.

• You are also expected to be available for additional projects as needed and you may be trained in other areas of the business to further your understanding of the Company as a whole.

Working hours: Full time is 5 days per week Monday- Saturday. 9am-5pm ( this is based off a 40 hour per week schedule)

Requirements:

Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices / Proficient in verbal and written English language / Computer skills / Knowledge of the art materials market dynamics / Solid communication and interpersonal skills / Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management / Telephone etiquette / Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business / Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision / Comprehend and implement our safety material handling requirements / Perform tasks as directed

Physical Demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours at a time. Must be able to lift 50 lb clay boxes everyday. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing ladders, and handle dry material with proper precautions / Customer service focused / Enthusiastic, friendly and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service / Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and on special events ie; Blowout Sales. / High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred, ceramics background ideal.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
