School Psychologist (.5 FTE)

BROAD FUNCTION

The School Psychologist for the Charlton School/Ketchum-Grande Memorial School will have a working knowledge of methods of assessment and utilize systematic processes to collect data, translate assessment results into empirically based decisions about service delivery and evaluate outcomes of services.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Integrate psychological services and interventions into the classroom environment as appropriate.
2. Collaborate with the Special Education team to provide assistance to staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students.
3. Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social emotional learning.
4. Maintain professional records of assessment and data.
5. Participate in staff meetings upon request.
6. Work an average of 20 hours a week.
7. Conduct psychoeducational assessments (cognitive, academic, observational) and interpret results for students for the purpose of the home district committee on special education (CSE) determinations.
8. Participate in building level meetings and district CSE meetings.
9. Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders such as parents/guardians, community members, educational team/clinical team as needed.
10. Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis.
11. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with the Education Director, Clinical Director and other members of the Charlton/KG team.

RELATIONSHIPS

The School Psychologist reports directly to the Education Director

Will maintain positive relationships with all staff members, students and their families

CRITERIA

New York State School Psychologist Certificate

Experience in child and adolescent psychology required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
