The Cincinnati Life Insurance Company Life Claims department is currently seeking an experienced life and annuity claims processor to review and evaluate life and annuity claims. The position requires professional communication with beneficiaries, agents and other customers while providing fair adjudication of claims and acting as a resource to others.
Be Ready To:
- manage a case load of Life and Annuity claims, including Accelerated Benefit and Accidental Death claims
- review and investigate claim evidence to determine liability
- answer telephone inquiries regarding new, pending and settled claims
- communicate with claimants, agents, beneficiaries, attorneys and others regarding claim requirements, settlement options, and claim decisions
- approve claims within scope of authority
- maintain claim files in thorough, clear and objective manner with accurate claim documentation
- obtain medical records for contestable claims and refer them to Underwriting
- verify data in policy administration system and calculate benefit amount to ensure accurate claim payment and financial/tax reporting
- prepare various claim reports for management review
- participate in projects or special assignments as needed
- comply with all state statutory requirements and fair claims practices
Be equipped with:
minimum three years’ experience life and annuity claim processing
excellent communication skills, both oral and written
competency in Microsoft Office software
knowledge of LifePro claims administration system preferred
understanding of life and annuity products, beneficiary wording and contract language
ability to work independently and effectively manage time
strong attention to detail
excellent customer service skills
You've earned:
Associate degree or equivalent life/annuity or tax-related experience
progress toward FLMI, FLHC or other industry designation preferred
