Under general supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the City of Orem Campus Facilities: Cemetery, City Center, Fire Stations 1-3, Lakeside Sports Park Concession building, Orem Fitness Center, Palisades Park Concessions Building, Public Safety, Public Works, Scera Park Pools, Senior Center, and the Water Treatment Plant.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in Facility Maintenance and knowledge of maintenance procedures on building structures, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and custodial machines and equipment. Considerable knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning systems and of general construction principles and practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public and other employees. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. OSHA 10 certified or willing to become certified within 6 first 6 months of hire date, and promote a safe environment by working within OSHA guidelines and standards. Ability to lift and move heavy objects. Skill in the use of various chemicals and cleaning solutions. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Must possess an Aquatics Facility Operator certificate (AFO) or be willing to obtain Aquatic Facility Operator certificate (AFO) within the first 6 months of hire date. Maintains a valid Utah Driver s License. Will observe all traffic regulations, follow City policy and be a safe, courteous and responsible driver while operating City vehicles. Must wear seat belt and make certain that other passengers are in seatbelts when vehicle is in operation. Willing to learn emergency procedures in each building within 3 months of hire date. General knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, alarms, pull stations, horns, and deluge fire systems.
