Employment Opportunity
The Orem Public Works Department is currently hiring for a Public Works Technician in the Cemetery. This is a full-time, benefited position responsible for specific duties related to the Cemetery, with emphasis in landscaping. Technicians in the Cemetery also work closely with the public in making funeral arrangements and must be able to be sensitive in dealing with families in their time of grief. This position will operate various types of heavy to light equipment and a variety of hand tools related to the Cemetery. Technicians are also required to be on-call periodically and respond to calls on a stand-by basis as needed. The schedule for this position will require Saturdays
Qualifications
- High School graduation or equivalent.
- 1 year related experience.
- Must possess and maintain valid Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Pay and Benefits
The current salary range for Public Works Technicians starts at $20.01 hourly ($41,619.67 annually) and is in a Hybrid Step/Career-Ladder pay program that allows for automatic raises on the anniversary of an employee's hire/position date (step) and career advancement based on meeting certain requirements (career ladder). New hires with previous comparable experience may be placed higher than Public Works Technician I, Entry, depending on previous experience, qualifications, and certifications.
