The Community Blood Center is looking for a Donor Recruitment Specialist to join our team!
Job Summary
Are you an outside sales professional that’s tired of selling a product you’re not passionate about? Would you be excited to grow your outbound skills while building relationships with local business leaders and helping us meet the blood needs of our community? If so, the Community Blood Center (CBC) has an exciting opportunity for you on our Donor Recruitment team as an Account Specialist.
- As an Account Specialist at CBC, you’ll use your outbound sales skills to identify and recruit local business leaders and institutions for mobile-blood drive sponsorship opportunities.
- You’ll also develop strategic account plans and coach and assist blood-drive coordinators in planning donor recruitment programs and activities to make sure CBC is able to meet the blood donation needs of our communities.

Pay and Hours
- Competitive pay with monthly incentive opportunities.
- This is a full-time, exempt position.
- This position often involves irregular hours, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends, making presentations and meeting with drive chair-persons to ensure blood drives operate smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- [Account Development] You’ll be responsible for identifying and meeting with local business leaders, groups, institutions, and other audiences to secure mobile blood drive sponsorships via phone, email, and in-person presentations.
- [Account Strategy] You’ll work with the Donor Recruitment team to develop strategic account plans to meet production goals.
- [Forecasting and Account Analysis] You’ll help us project mobile blood drive collections within acceptable ranges for individual drives to help CBC meet or exceed monthly and annual blood supply goals.
- [Blood Drive Scheduling and Coordination] You’ll work with key accounts, drive chairpersons, and coordinators to schedule and coordinate blood drives in compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and mobile scheduling guidelines to ensure a successful blood drive and drive repeat sponsorships.
- [Database Maintenance] You’ll use our CRM to maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, sponsor group information, and blood drive results.
- [Post-Mortems] You’ll conduct evaluation meetings in a timely manner with the blood drive coordinator to assess the effectiveness of the blood drive, make recommendations for improvement, and schedule the next blood drive.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent sales experience is required.
Experience
- Outside sales or similar experience working directly with customers is required.
- This role requires proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with strong knowledge of Excel and Word and common office equipment.
Skills
- You should be confident and excited to communicate with prospects from a variety of industries via the phone, email, social media, and similar.
- You should enjoy and be skilled at giving presentations and speaking in public.
- You must be highly self-motivated and able to schedule and follow up with prospects with minimal direct supervision.
- You must have strong negotiation and resolution skills. You must be able to effectively assess and solve issues in a professional manner.
- You have a proactive, positive attitude and show outstanding customer service at all times with prospects, accounts, and within CBC.
- You don’t shy away from being held accountable for individual and team recruitment activities and goals.
- You are happy to comply with all policies and procedures as outlined in CBC Employee Handbook, CBC SOPs, and/or departmental directives.
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license to operate a personal and CBC vehicle.
