Job Title: Extended Care Coordinator

The Extended Care Coordinator position is critical to the success of our school. They create a safe, exciting, and uplifting academic environment for K-12 students before the school day begins and after it ends. They challenge every student to excel at the highest level and establish great relationships with parents, which fosters trust and makes for a successful home and school partnership.
This position reports directly to the Extended Care Director
Key Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Understand with complete clarity Community Church’s mission and vision
- Provide educational leadership and administrative support consistent with the school’s mission, values, philosophy of education, and yearly achievement goals
- Meet with the Assistant Principals to problem solve, receive and give feedback, and further advance the school’s mission and efficacy; keeping them informed on all pertinent issues ensuring that he/she is never surprised
- Provide a leadership presence daily
- Set an example for the staff professionally and spiritually
- Evaluate extended care staff quarterly and provide tracks of improvement
- Ensure all safety, security, and crisis management processes and procedures are understood and being followed at all events
- Assist with the continued improvement of the school for acquisition of Cognia and ICAA accreditations
- Listen to feedback from a variety of sources for school effectiveness
- Assist the Extended Care Director
Communication:
- Assist the Extended Care Director in conducting extended care orientation and any required training to ensure the staff is well advised of new policies and procedures
- Send out the working schedule to staff in advance
- Assist the Extended Care Director in preparing and updating the extended care handbook, which outlines the program’s policies and procedures
- Communicate with the Extended Care Director regarding future Extended Care initiatives
- Advertise programming with currently enrolled students and families
Programming:
- Assist the Extended Care Director in planning, preparing, and executing Extended Care orientation during new teacher orientation
- Assist the Extended Care Director in creating a shared space plan designating classrooms for Extended Care programming
- Update and implement Extended Care programs, enrichment opportunities, camps, and special care days as outlined in the Virginia Academy calendar
- Submit purchase requests to the Extended Care Director
- Document and submit expenses and receipts to the Extended Care Director
- Oversee disciplinary measures for Lower and Upper School students during extended care hours
- Oversee budgetary requirements for all special classes
- Ensure proper coding and accurate reporting of all divisional spending
- Manage Extended Care spending according to the set program budget allowance
- Create ratio-based scheduling for extended care staff with vacancies, time-off requests, etc.
- Organize, maintain, and keep inventory of an operational storage space
- Advertise, interview, and evaluate potential counselors for Extended Care
- Oversee and set the schedule for Extended Care staff members during All-staff orientation
- Organize and distribute programming materials for Extended Care Staff for each quarter
- Update and distribute parent literature communicating programming guidelines, biblical integration, pricing, and future events that are covered by Extended Care
- Frequently communicate with the Lower & Upper School Assistant Principals to give progress updates and solve potential disputes
- Maintain CPR/ First-Aid/ MAT certifications
- Collect essential and confidential student information including medical documents and emergency contacts and make them available to essential staff members
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education Required
4 Year Degree in Education or Education Field of Study
Experience Required
Experience at Virginia Academy or similar programs
Demonstrated ability to lead other leaders
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment (hiring,
procedure management, etc.)
Experience in church-run school administration
