What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Swim Coach position at The Country Club of Louisiana?
The Country Club of Louisiana is looking for an experienced Head Swim Coach to teach our private youth swimmers and team. We are seeking experienced individuals to provide top-tier service to our members and guests.
The Head Swim Coach shall oversee and be responsible for all swim team operations. The Head Swim Coach shall be responsible for communicating with the CCLA membership regarding all aspects of the swim team program including but not limited to practices, meets, special events, weather cancellations, other updates, etc. The Head Swim Coach is responsible for hiring and training 5-8 other coaches to help run the program. The Head Swim Coach shall also have the opportunity to conduct swim lessons, or delegate swim lessons to coaches that are properly trained and knowledgeable.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead coach for a group or groups within the team and attend all practices, meet sessions and functions for your designated group(s)
- Execution of all meets
- Submit, update, and finalize entries to meets
- Develop practice and meet schedules and maintain website calendar
- Engage actively in club promotion, swimmer evaluations, and swimmer retention
- Interact and communicate with parents, swimmers and coaches in a professional manner
- Contribute to overall team communications and respond to all communications in a timely manner
- Update or guide website updates, as needed
- Collaborate with coaching staff to provide continuity and training progressions across all training groups
- Develop and implement training programs that focus on improving technique, stroke placement, speed, and style.
- Set training goals and objectives for teams as well as individual swimmers
- Meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 1 year related experience instructing and/or coaching swim required.
- CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness)
- Current Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization required, if required by state law.
- Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred.
- ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association), USA Swimming, or USMS (United States Masters Swimming) certification preferred.
- Must possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service based manner.
