The Country Club of Orlando is looking for "5-Star," exceptional professionals to join our Nationally ranked Club located in the Heart of Central Florida. We currently have server openings in our a la carte Palm Dining Room and on our Banquet Team.

Job Summary and Position Objective:

Provide superior quality food and beverage service to club members and their guests.

**Must have open availability** must be flexible with working weekends, mornings, and nights as needed - no exceptions! Must be able to and willing to work in an outdoor environment, when needed**

Compensation:

$14/hour during training

$10.00/hour gratuity (after training)

*Full-time employees are benefit eligible within first 60 days of employment*

Essential Functions:

  • Display a professional, polished appearance in accordance with guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Make a conscious effort to learn Member’s names and address them by name whenever possible.
  • Set-up side station and perform assigned side work.
  • Check station prior to the start of the meal period, being sure to polish glass and silverware, make sure centerpieces are in order, all place settings are complete, get names of all reservations.
  • Provide attention or acknowledgement of Members within 30 seconds of their being seated.
  • Take Member’s drink order and review all specials. (i.e., fish of the day, soup, starch, vegetable, special entrees, sandwiches, salads). Use suggestive selling techniques.
  • Take food order upon delivery of drinks, using pivot points.
  • Place order in the Point-of-Sale system using proper seat numbers based on pivot points.
  • Inform kitchen of any special preps or special requests.
  • Perform all functions of a la carte service in the dining areas, including menu presentation, pairing recommendations, order taking and bussing.
  • Exercise cleanliness in all areas of the Club.
  • Assemble food on the tray with all necessary condiments and silverware.
  • Deliver and serve meal, being careful to serve all ladies first from the left.
  • Check back within two minutes to ensure member/guest satisfaction.
  • Replenish water, butter, bread, cocktails, etc. frequently.
  • Remove dirty dishes after everyone is finished eating (or as otherwise instructed).
  • Suggest and serve coffee, dessert, and after dinner drinks.
  • Verify accuracy of prices, taxes, service charge, other charges, member number on all checks.
  • Present bill in a check presenter (along with a comment card) for the member to sign.
  • Keep tables, dining room and bus station clean.
  • Advise supervisor or manager of complaints and/or potential problems as soon as they occur.
  • Perform clean-up/closing duties as assigned.
  • Attend 5:30 p.m. pre-meal meeting in the kitchen each day scheduled, promptly and in full uniform.
  • Be a team player. Assist in all positions of the dining room (i.e., hostess, food runner, busser) and assist other departments as required.
  • Perform any other reasonable requests asked of you by a supervisor or manager.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours per shift.
  • Carrying tables and chairs back and forth to the grill dining room when needed
  • Must be able to bend, twist, reach, squat, and kneel when necessary.

Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-Time are expected to work minimum of 32 hours/week.
  • Part-Time are expected to work up to 29 hours/week.
  • Flexible hours but expected to work nights and weekends.
  • Available to work all major holidays and Club functions.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Knowledge of culinary, wine and spirits, preferred.
  • At least one year of Private Club experience or fine dining experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable and able to perform 5-star service.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Some College related courses preferred
  • ServSafe Certification, or equivalent
