The role of a recruiter for The Custom Companies will identify, recruit, screen, and present good candidates, primarily for variety of transportation positions, collaborating with managers throughout the recruitment process.
As a Recruiter, you can expect to have these responsibilities:
- Collaborates with hiring managers to understand the needs and roles to be filled; reviews job descriptions for needs
- Assists with the development and revision of specifications and job descriptions for selected positions
- Identifies the most effective methods for recruiting and attracting candidates
- Drafts job posts and places ads through our Applicant Tracking System for open positions
- Identifies appropriate candidates and assesses their qualifications through review of their resumes, telephonic interviews, and other forms of communications
- Interviews candidates and provides shortlists of potential hires
- Prepares qualified candidates before interviews
- Connects qualified candidates with managers
- Maintains contact with candidates to keep them apprised of the status of their applications
- Keeps detailed records of applicants information including resumes, skillset and interview evaluations through our ATS
- Vets potential employees credentials
- Attends job fairs and industry conferences
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the transportation industry
- General Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Organized and Possess Time Management Skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- General Computer Skills, knowledge of marketing via social media
- Knowledge of Computer Software, Windows, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, & Word.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Ability to attract and retain talent, proven relationship building skills, and strong leadership qualities to influence candidates
- Ability to work well in a fast paced and team-oriented environment
Background
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- 2-3 years of recruiting experience
- Prior transportation background is encouraged
